Zenba Beecher Harris, age 90 of Clarksville, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at his residence. Sykes Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Sykes Funeral Home. Another visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Bernard Funeral Home in Nancy, KY on Friday, April 25, 2014. The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, KY with Rev. Bryan Baggett officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, KY.

He was born in Cincinnati, OH on May 28, 1923 to the late Carey Beecher Harris and Matrie Emerson Harris. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Olive Fox Harris and brother, Joy Dennis Harris.

He was a WWII Veteran having served his country from February 17, 1943 thru November 18, 1945. He served in France, Germany and Austria. He became a Corporal in the Army and was a member of the crew for a 155MM Howitzer. After the war he returned home to Russell County, KY where he worked for the Corp of Engineers building Wolf Creek Dam. Zen moved to Clarksville, TN where he worked for and retired from TVA. He also retired from IBEW with 60 years of service. He was a Mason for over 50 years and a member of Bible Baptist Church of Clarksville. Zen loved his family and loved playing Bluegrass music with his brother, sister and Dad. He played both the guitar and fiddle. Zen loved both fishing and hunting. He loved to have fun, play a good joke and to travel.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Prothro Harris; sister, Elaine Harris (Ed) Wade of Russell Springs, KY; brother, Jerry Lee (Peggy) Harris of Liberty, KY; stepsons, William (Carol) Scott, Gene (Sheri) Scott; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Roger Wade, Terry Wade, Teddy Wade, William Scott, Gene Scott, Brian Orgeron, Brandon Wade and Trey Scott. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cary Wade, Darren Wade and Casey Wade.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bible Baptist Church, 3102 Prospect Circle, Clarksville, KY or Mt. Eden Baptist Church, Russell Springs, KY.
