Funeral service for Willie Mae (Burkhart) Lehman, age 84 of Woodlawn, will be Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Sykes Funeral Home. Bro. Dwayne James will officiate. Burial will follow at Wilees Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home and again on Wednesday Sept. 19, 2012 from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Ms. Lehman passed away on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at her daughter's residence. She was born on Sept. 02, 1928 in Montgomery County, TN to Gaines Burkhart and Bessie Sanders Burkhart. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elbert H. Lehman Jr. She was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell, KY and was a founding member of Oakwood Free Will Baptist Church where she taught sunday school for over 30 years.
She is survived by her Daughter, Linda Lehman Woodruff; Son, Wayne (Judy Gaye) Lehman; Daughter, Donna (Thomas) Ely; Son, Mike Lehman; Brother, G. W. (Betty) Burkhart; Sister-in-Law, Audrey Burkhart; Grandchildren, Jill Roney, Jennifer Patterson, Julie Carn, Micah McKinney, Thomas Lehman, Brett Lehman, Kimberly Marek, Wendy Corriveau, Amanda Mack, Laura Lehman, Rebecca Lehman and 12 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Thomas, Brett and Tracy Lehman, Kevin Marek, Chris Corriveau and Lee James.
