William M. Haun, 85, Indian Mound, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Military Chaplain officiating. Burial will be in Blooming Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Haun was born December 10, 1924 in Seymour, TN, son of the late David C. and Ollie Gibbs Haun. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Bolin Haun; two stepsons Jim and Jack Conley; and his sister Virginia Brown. Mr. Haun retired from Duffy's Tool & Die Shop in Muncie IN after serving in the U.S. Navy as a gunner on the USS Biloxi during WWII.
His survivors are his son Roger (Elizabeth) Haun, IN; daughter Evelyn Current, IN; stepdaughters Betty (John) Harty, IN and Penny Scroggins Clarksville; brothers Chester (Linda) Haun; Horace Haun both of IN; sister June (Don) Collins, IN; daughter-in-laws Patricia and Shirley Conley; brother-in-law Joe Brown, IN; 26 grandchildern and many great and great great grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
