William Gaither

A Celebration Of Life service for William "Doug" Gaither, age 79 of Clarksville, will be Tuesday, February 27,2018 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Brother John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home and again on Tuesday at the church from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.

Doug passed away on Friday, Feb 23, 2018.  He was born on Mar 06, 1938 in Montgomery County, TN to Vermont and Bessie Rives Gaither.  He was a member and Deacon of Pleasant View Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandchildren; Mitchell and Lexie Gaither, and  survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ada Mae Abbott Gaither, son Lathe (Shirley) Gaither, daughter Tonya (Jason)Scott, brother Roger (Faye) Gaither, sister Judy Herald, grandchildren; Kaleb (Celily) Gaither, Payton Scott, and Jason Scott Jr.

Pallbearers will be Kaleb Gaither, Jason Scott, Jr, Allen Ellis, Marty Ellis, Troy Gorney, Terry D. Abbott, Jimmy Gaither, and Freddie Hoard. Honorary pallbearers are Robert S. White, Jimmy Suiter, Charles Coke, Phillip W. Arms, Terry Abbott, Tony Perry, Nathan Perry, and Dudley Rives.
