Funeral services for William Turner "Pete" Evans, age 93 of Clarksville, will be Wednesday, Jan 03, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Jon Justice will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mallory's Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan 02, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday, Jan 03, 2018 from 10:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be; Walt Heggie, Kevin Austin, Mason Heggie, Bryan Austin, Todd Jennette and Cameron Heggie.  Honorary pallbearers will be; Madison Heggie, Lane Barger, Cooper Jennette and Tanner Heggie

"Pete" passed away on Saturday, Dec 30, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on Jan 23, 1924 in Cheatham County, TN to Isaac Jerome and Minnie Ethel Evans.  He was a member of Oak Lawn Free Will Baptist and attended Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He was a retired electrician from Trane Co. employee number 28, and was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and the recipient of 4 Bronze Stars. He was a member of the American Legion and took pride in making sure veterans were honored on Memorial Day with a flag on their graves. His hobbies included bluegrass music, gardening and geneology. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Albright and a brother, Frank Evans, his wife, Mildred Albright Evans and later in life was married to Evelyn Head Evans who also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughters; Vicki Heggie,  Rosemary (James) Austin, Pamela Hollis,  Dana (Hank) Salyer; sisters, Marie Albright and Lorene Sprague; grandchildren; Walt (Andi) Heggie, Kevin Austin, Mason (Heather) Heggie, Marsha (Todd) Jennette, Shannon Barger, Bryan Austin; great grandchildren; Cameron, Madison and Tanner Heggie, Lane Barger, Cooper Jennette; step children; Sarah (Lyle) Schulte, Robert (Myra) Head, Jackie (David) Poole, and 9 step grand and 16 great and 4 great great grandchildren.
