Ursula K. Gray, 86, Clarksville, died peacefully Sunday, February 6, 2011, at her son's home. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Gray was born June 1, 1924 in Neustadt, East Germany to the late Otto Koenig and Ida Lutz. She was preceded in death by her husband SFC (R) Calvin E. Gray, Sr. Ursula was a retired nurse from Civil Service, working at both the old hospital and BACH, Fort Campbell, KY. She cared for those injured soldiers returning from Viet Nam at the old Fort Campbell Hospital. She was well known throughout the area for the care and compassion she gave her patients. She also spent approximately 20 years as a nurse at Memorial Hospital in Clarksville. She received her nursing training in Germany and worked as an RN in West Germany. She served as a nurse during WW11. She later met her husband while working with the US forces, married and came to the US in 1953. She is survived by her sister, Irmgard Deublein of Kitzingen, Germany and three sons, 1SG(R)Calvin E. Gray ll (Jeannie), Ronald H. Gray (Cindy), and Jerry L. Gray (Sharon); five grandchildren, Tonya J. Gray, Calvin E. Gray lll, Jerry L. Gray ll, Jesse D. Gray, Jason D. Gray; and eight great-grandchildren, Colton and Dalton Eatherly, Calvin E. Gray IV, Logan and Ashlynn O'Hare, and Amy, Jayden and Conner Gray. A special thank you is extended to Ursula Lopez of Amedisys Home Health Care.
