Funeral service for Tommy Ray Stewart, age 72 of Woodlawn, will be Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West . The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, April 29, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Tommy passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was born on April 06, 1944 in North Carolina to Allen Stewart and Minnie Holland. Tommy was retired from the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Velma Stewart, son, John (Donna) Stewart, daughters; Anna L. Stover, Tammy L. (Tony) Baker, sister, J. Evans, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
