Tom Howard

Thomas Dewey Howard, 68, of Hendersonville, TN passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Alive Hospice in Madison.  Sykes Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.  Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 5th at McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church, 431 Old Hickory Blvd., Madison. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, September 4th from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Wednesday, September 5th from 11:00 am until time of service at McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Hendersonville, TN.
Tom was born July 9, 1944 in Lafayette, TN to the late Sammie and Roxie Bohanon Howard.  He was also preceded in death by his step-mother Myrtie Shrum Howard; brothers, James Howard, Randal Howard and son, Kevin Thomas Howard.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Green Howard of Hendersonville; daughter Kimberly Lynn (Johnny) of Hendersonville; grandchildren, John Thomas Lynn, III, Christian Lynn both of Hendersonville, Makenzie Howard, Madison Howard both of White House; sisters-in-law, Beverly Kerman (Richard) of Huntley, IL, Sue Howard of Lafayette, TN, Linda Howard of Lafayette, TN; one brother-in-law, Keith Green of Gallatin, TN and several nieces and nephews.
Tom served as a Deacon of McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church for over 25 years and served in roles of Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk and Sunday School Superintendent for over 40 years.  He served as sales manager for Mercury Supply Company for over 35 years.
The Deacons of McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church will serve as Pallbearers.  The employees of Mercury Supply and the Beach House Gang will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
