Thelma Morrison "Momma Ducky" age 87, of Clarksville passed away May 18, 2013 at Signature Healthcare. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Funeral service will be Monday, May 20, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 11:00 am until the hour of service. She was born January 23, 1926 in Woodlawn, TN to the late Caldwell and Oneda Wooten Griffy. Mrs. Morrison was a member of the First Church of God Clarksville and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Pete Henry Morrison; brothers, Hubert and Bernice Griffy and sisters, Minnie Mae Sutton, Edna Harris and Mabel McWhorter.
She is survived by her brother, Virgil (Margaret) Griffy, of Clarksville, and sisters; Martha (Robert) Robold of Clarksville, Juanita (Roy) Darnell of Harvest, AL, Betty (Leon) Manners of Mt. Juliet. Although Thelma never bore children of her own, she was very much a mother to a special Goddaughter, Brittney Black South, as well as, Brittney's children Marlee and Maddie, whom she loved dearly. "Momma Ducky" was one in a million who gave of herself wholeheartedly with a true servant heart.
Pallbearers will be Tim Manners, Troy Manners, Kevin McWhorter, Ronnie Black, Mike South and Gary Shelton.
