Teresa Jo Taylor of Clarksville, Tennessee, entered eternal rest on February 18, 2023. She was 67.
Teresa was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Owen Lonas Taylor and the recently deceased, Dorothea Carolina Roberts.
She was a kind-hearted, sweet natured gal, known for her intelligence and strong work ethic; qualities that made her one of the best teachers to ever grace a classroom. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Austin Peay State University and then pursued a career in education, developing a true passion for teaching young school children, first at Byrns Darden Elementary in Clarksville, then moving to Nashville to teach at Cockrill Elementary School. She was devoted to this noble profession for 26 years until her retirement in 2019.
Teresa was a lover of literature, with a particular fondness for the works of William Faulkner and F. Scott Fitzgerald. She also loved a good bar-b-que, the movie Mulholland Drive and soft, summer rain.
Loyalty was her greatest virtue. You could depend on Teresa through thick or thin, good times or bad. She lived with considerable heartbreak because she always wore her heart on her sleeve. However, she never lost her sense of humor or her compassion for others.
She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to see her generous smile. Teresa often dreamt of the day she would be reunited with her beloved mother, Dot, who passed over the river three short years ago. Now mother and daughter both rest under the shade of the trees, joined together in the Sweet Hereafter.
Teresa is survived her younger twin brothers, Dan and Stan Taylor; a nephew, Keith Taylor; and two cousins, Gina Galyon and Cindy Baglin.
