Sybol Houston Sherrill, age 79 of Clarksville, TN departed this life on Sunday, June 21, 2015. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 24 at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Wilson and Bro. David Mackens officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Sybol was born the daughter of John and Myrtis Houston on December 11, 1935 in Coffee County, AL. The majority of her life she served her family as a homemaker. She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. She also worked in the secretarial field as executive assistant to Mayor Crozier, a registrar for APSU and Western KY University. Education was of the utmost importance to her. She was one of the most polite, soft spoken ladies. As "Bud" said, she was the most outstanding woman that ever lived. She was an amazing mother and she simply loved people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John and George Houston; sisters, Betty McGinnis and Geraldine Houston. She is survived by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Dorse "Bud" Sherrill, son, Dorse Marcus (Kathy) Sherrill; daughter, Connie Sue (William) Klein; grandchildren, Kirby (Benjamin) Barber, Katherine (Ashford) Shalaby; step-grandchildren, William Klein, Jr., Jacob (Amanda) Klein, Rebekkah (Tommy) Odum, John (Sarah) Klein; great-grandchildren, Magnolia, Jasper, Mason, and Lincoln; brother, Winston Isaac Houston; sisters, Edna McIntosh, Pauline Tidwell and Magdeline Crumpler. Deacons of Lone Oak Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be; Ricky Eads, Jerry Barnes, Danny Barnes, Jerry Wayne Barnes, Howard Pettus, and Ted Rye.
