Funeral service for Sybil Kennedy, age 80 of Clarksville, will be Friday, Jul 13, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Spring Creek Baptist Church, 2760 Trenton Road, Clarksville. Dr. Roger Freeman, Dr. John David Laida, and Rev. Paul Bunger, pastor of Spring Creek Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Kennedy Cemetery on Merriweather Road.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home, Thursday July 12, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home, and Friday July 13, 2012 at Spring Creek Baptist Church from 1:00 pm until hour of service.

Sybil Chambliss Kennedy passed into the loving arms of our Beloved Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, July 09, 2012 at her son's residence.  She was born on June 27, 1932 in Chapmansboro, TN, to the late Henry Orman Chambliss and Sudie Harris Chambliss.  She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church for more than 55 years. She loved to attend the weekly Ladies' Hamby Sunday School Class. She was greatly loved by her church family and her many friends. She served at what was formerly known as the Northern Bank of Tennessee for over 38 years. Her last responsibility was when she served in the  Human Resources Department at First American Bank.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband, Laurence Ray Kennedy, a local barber and by her younger sister, Mary Margaret Powell (Husband: Ralph Powell) of Houston, TX.

She is survived by one brother, Royce O. Chambliss (wife: Nell Hanley Chambliss: her three sons, Laurence Glenn Kennedy, a local school teacher at Glenellen Elementary School; Kevin Chambliss Kennedy, of the Kennedy Law Firm (wife: Rhonda Fulkerson Kennedy, principal of Barkers Mill Elementary School) and Bruce Alan Kennedy of the Kennedy Law Firm (Robin Osborne Kennedy, a first grade teacher at Barkley Elementary School, Ft. Campbell, KY), and
