SSG James Harris, ARMY (Ret)

 A Celebration of Life service for SSG James Harris, ARMY (Ret), age 79, of Clarksville, TN, will be Friday, January 17, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Castrova officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. 

James was born on September 5, 1945, in Santa Maria, CA, to James and Cecelia Harris who preceded him in death. He passed away on January 8, 2025. James was a Vietnam veteran and retired from the United States Army. He loved spending time with his family and traveling. James also enjoyed fishing and playing video games. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carol Akers Harris; children: James Totten, Sherri (Willard) Butler, Lisa (Amos) Long, Kimberly (Brian) Carroll, and Amy (Jason) Knapp; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and his sister, Carol (Richard Sr.) Windes.
