Vernon Traxler, Sr., 86, Ashland City, died Monday, February 7, 2011, at Veterans Administration Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with military honors. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Traxler was born July 23, 1924 in Lake Providence, LA son of the late Jerry Porter Traxler and Maude Chapman Traxler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Depriest Traxler. Mr. Traxler was a WWII veteran of the US Navy and presbyterian. Mr. Traxler is survived by his sons, David Traxler and Charles Traxler, and daughter; Ann Bond, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
