Paul S. Martin, Sr., 97, Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald D. Burgess officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Sykes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Martin was born June 9, 1910, in Montgomery County, son of the late Schuyler George Martin and Nannie Shelton Martin. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Chester Martin, son Paul S. Martin, II and infant son Robert Martin. Also, preceded in death by brothers Schuyler G. Jr., Lawrence, and Eugene Martin, sisters Ailene and Nan Martin.
Mr. Martin was a farmer and member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He served in the military during WWII.
Survived by his son Rev. Schuyler E. Martin, Ph.D. and wife Bonnie. Twin granddaughters Isabelle and Katie Harden.
Pallbearers will be Larry Meek, Woody Binkley, William H. Pollard, Damon Ross, Shannon Ferrell and Thom Nash. Honorary pallbears will be Bobby Damron, Bob DelGiorno, Jack Dowlen, Frank Dowlen and Dale Chester.
