Billy Joe Wall, Sr., 78, Clarksville, died Friday, January 1, 2010, at his home. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Fambrough and Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. til 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Wall was born May 14, 1931 in Stewart County, TN, son of the late Jim Crow Wall and Annie Mildred Wilson Wall. In addition to his parents Mr. Wall was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Rittenberry Wall, brothers; Graham Wall, J.C. Wall, Allen Wall, Frank Wall, Perry Wall and sister Mae Stagner. Mr. Wall retired from the U.S. Air Force where he served over 20 years. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Mr. Wall then completed an additional 20 year career as an Engineer in Civil Service at Fort Campbell. Mr. Wall was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. Mr. Wall is survived by a son, Billy Joe (Leslie) Wall, Jr., Cumberland Furnace, daughters Pamela J. Wall, Clarksville and Vickie Jo Wall Hodges Davis of Clarksville, grandchildren; Jeremiah Hodges, Sayward Lowery, Alexis Wall, Jamison Davis and Andrew Wall, and great-grandchildren; Emma Lowery, Reese Lowery, and Jacob Hodges, brothers; Woodrow Wall, Eddie Wall and Morris Wall, sisters; Flora Perry and Mary Devers. Military will serve as Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be friends and Deacons of Lone Oak Baptist Church. Donations may be made in Mr. Wall's memory to the Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department, 3997 Morgan Road, Cunningham, TN 37052.
