Billy James Davis, Sr. age 78, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away November 2nd at Spring Meadows Nursing Home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. Kathy A. Fox and Rev. David Mackens officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home and Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery.
He was born May 14, 1935 son of the late Polk and Lorene Davis. He was a retired inspector and supervisor with the Clarksville Gas and Water Department. He was also an Elder and lifelong member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church.
Billy is survived by his loving family which includes his wife of 58 years Alice King Davis, son Jimmy (Donna) Davis, his daughter Lynn (DeWayne) Olive and son Kenny (Mari Jo) Davis.
He was the loving grandfather of Justin Davis, Haley (JD) Gregory, Alyssa (Matt) Dyce, Ben Davis, Allison (Daniel) Baggett, Jarred (Shalie) Davis, and Matt Davis.
His brothers and sisters include Earlene Lewis, Polk Davis, Jr. (deceased), Barbara Carper (deceased), John Davis (deceased), Faye Couts, Frank Davis, Phillip Davis, Linda Bumpus, Mickey Davis, Rachel Yarbrough, Mary Francis, Steve Davis, and David Davis.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Davis, Jeremy Davis, Joey Davis, Michael Yarbrough, Lewis Bumpus, and Richard Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Ellis, Tommy McIntosh, Glenn Meek, and Mike Taylor.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Asera Care, 1539 C New Ashland City Road, Clarksville, Tennessee; Alzheimer's Association; or Macedonia Presbyterian Church, c/o Shirley Meek, 3400 Corbandale Road, Palmyra, TN 37142.
