A Celebration of Life service for Slim Wooten, age 93 of Clarksville, will be Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Masonic service to follow and again on Wednesday from 11:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Slim passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Centennial Medical Center. He was born on May 10, 1926 in Montgomery County, TN to James and Ethel Chester Wooten. Slim was the owner of Slim Wooten's Market for over 15 years. He served in the U.S. Marines and was also a Mason with Lodge 761. Slim was so much to so many: musician, entertainer, and comedian. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents he is proceeded in death by his wife Marie Wooten, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. Slim is survived by his daughters Elaine Blick and Debbie Barbour, grandchildren: Melinda Liberatore, Justin Barbour, and Devin Barbour, great-grandchildren: Aly, Delaney, Makenzie, Marissa, Landon, Madison, Brittnye, and Brendan, and one great-great grandchildren Layla and Noah.
Pallbearers will be Justin Barbour, Bobby Givens, Patrick Seth Givens, Shane Givens, Lowell Shock, and Raymond Shock.
