Graveside funeral service for Shirley Howell Murphy, age 86 of Clarksville, will be Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Sykes Funeral Home. Shirley passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at her residence. She was born on Nov. 06, 1929 in Guthrie, Ky to Jerome Howell and Maidell Caroland Ross. She was retired from Bellsouth after 32 years of service and was a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church, Pioneers Club of TN, UMW Rebecca Circle. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred O. Murphy, brothers; Charles, James, William, Buddy and Mac Howell. She is survived by her daughters, Martha (Jim)Davis, Rita (Charles) Winters; grandchildren, Howell Winters, Jessica Peterson, Clay, Jenna, Krista, and Austin Davis; great grandchildren, Olivia and Owen Winters, Summit and Perry Rose Peterson.
