Shirley Lynn Gaither

She was born July 31, 1965 in Clarksville, Tennessee to David Allen and Christine Johnson Allen. She attended Clarksville High School, graduating in 1983, and was a longtime and beloved member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

She married William Lathe Gaither in 1984, and they remained happily in love until her last breath. She had three children, William Mitchell Gaither, Lexie Nicole Gaither, and Kaleb Grey Gaither, and two granddaughters, Sadie Ann Gaither and Presley Ann Gaither.

She was a source of light and laughter through any sickness, loss, or grief she faced. She counted it all joy knowing that in trials, she could better understand the Lord’s strength and grace.

Aside from her joy, she will be remembered for her love of her family, all things chocolate, and the color purple.

She was met in heaven by both her parents and two of her children, Mitchell and Lexie. 

She is leaving behind countless family and friends who will celebrate the blessing she was in their lives and cherish her memory for years to come. Among those are her husband of 39 years Lathe Gaither, her son Kaleb (Cecily) Gaither, her two granddaughters Sadie Ann Gaither and Presley Ann Gaither, her sister Glenda Allen, and her twin brother Robert (Martha) Allen. 

Please join her family as they celebrate her life this weekend. Visitation will be Saturday, September 2 from 11:00am-2:00pm at Pleasant View Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 2:00pm and be officiated by Pastor Gary Herndon.

Pallbearers will be Jason Scott II, Noah Johnson, Tyler Cherry, Christian Johnson, Abram Johnson and Ray Quintero.
