SFC (Ret) Tyree Dexter Boss, 93, Southside, died Friday, September 3, 2010, at Christian Care Center of Cheatham County. The funeral will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. James Black officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full Military Honors. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday and from 9:30 A.M. until hour of service Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home.
Mr. Boss was born September 8, 1916 in Highpoint, GA to the late Enoch Dexter and Daisy Mae Boss. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Edward Lee Boss amd Tyree Eugene Boss. He was a member of Millers Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, retired from the US Army having served in WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Laura Jane (Lemley) Boss of Southside; grandson, Tyree Allen (Jody) Boss; great-grandchildren, Autumn Boss and Tyree Dale Boss. Pallbearers will be Russell Black, Mike McIntosh, Timmy Swaw, Tony Davis, Terry Newsom and Kevin Shaver.
