SCPO Charles Earl Clinard, NAVY (Ret)

A Celebration of Life service for SCPO Charles Earl Clinard, NAVY (Ret), age 82, of Clarksville, TN, will be Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Sykes Funeral Home. Rev. Beverly Dycus will officiate. Burial will follow at Wilee's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

He was born on July 1, 1942, to Florence and Earl Clinard. Charles passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024. He proudly served his country for 20 and a half years in the United States Navy, dedicating his life to duty and honor. His service took him across the world, from Pensacola to Meridian, Mississippi—where he met and married the love of his life, Betty Lou and they had their first son, Gregory—to the Azores in Portugal, where they welcomed their sons John and Jason, and to Keflavik, Iceland, a post he chose over Hawaii. After retiring from the Navy, Charles continued his service to the military community through civil service at Fort Campbell Military Base.

He cherished time spent with his family, whether it was watching sports with his sons, playing golf with his grandson or sharing jokes and laughter with his granddaughters. His humor and unwavering love left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Charles lived a life of service and integrity. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he loved and in the memories they will forever cherish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry, his beloved wife Betty Lou, and his son Greg. He is survived by his siblings Linda Allen (Johnny) and David Clinard (Melissa), his sons John Clinard (Kathy) and Jason Clinard (Christy), his grandchildren Kayla Coon (Devin), Caitlin Cox (Scott), and Christopher Clinard, and his great-grandchildren Isabella Clinard, Bryce Fairfield, Airam Cox, Alyx Cox, Brooklynn Jackson, Dahlia Jackson, and Ember Coon.

Fair winds and following seas, Pappy. Your journey is complete, and you are home at last.

Pallbearers will be: John Clinard, Chris Clinard, David Clinard, Chase Clinard, John Allen, and Jason Litchfield.
