Sandra Lee Johns was born on November 30, 1937, and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 25, 2024. She was born in Port Angeles, Washington and was raised in Sequim, Washington. In June of 1959, she graduated from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington as a Music Major. She began playing the piano as a child, following her love of music from her father who was a violinist. Together they played and together they play again.
At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ which was of absolute importance to her. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and was involved in Bible Study Fellowship. Her Christian life was dedicated to serving the Lord from a young age of playing the piano in church and continued until the age of 79. Through these years, music was her ministry and her beautiful piano arrangements of classical music, worship songs, and hymns touched the lives of many.
She was united in holy matrimony to Marvin Russell Johns in July of 1961. This union was blessed with three children. Mr. Johns preceded her death on November 15, 2022. Thereafter, she became a resident of Spring Meadows Nursing Home in Clarksville, Tennessee. On behalf of the Johns family a special thank you to all of the nursing home staff for the kindness, loving care and friendship so freely given to our mother. Her family also extends gratitude beyond measure to Aseracare Hospice who made her transition into Heaven comfortable and peaceful.
Sandra was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She loved her family deeply and cherished every moment with them. Her beautiful music, compassionate nature, witty sense of humor, infectious laughter, beautiful smile, and generous spirit will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by her Father, Arthur Pearson; Mother, Virl Smith Pearson; Sister-in-laws, Susan Pearson, and Mary Alice Scruggs; Brother-in law, Glen Johns; and Niece, Rebecca Pearson.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her Children: Richard (Sandy) Johns, Randy (Christine) Johns, and Deborah (Thomas) Kuhn; Grand-children: Jared (Emma) Johns, Alex Johns, Samuel Kuhn and Nora Kuhn; Great Grand-child on the way; Sisters: Linda (Larry) Edlund, and Brenda (Greg) Lenke; Brothers: Thomas (Colleen) Pearson and John Pearson; as well as a host of devoted nieces and nephews.
