SSGT (Ret). Samuel Earl Greer, Sr. 83, passed away April 24, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center. Funeral service will be Thursday at 12:00 p.m at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with the Military Chaplain officiating.. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors. Arrangements by Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.
Mr. Greer was born May 8, 1927 in Paris, TN, son of the late Alex and Nancy E. Carrigan Greer. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Greer. He retired from the US Air Force, was a Mason, and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette Holland Greer; son Samuel E. (Jackie) Greer, Jr. of Toney, Al; daughter Laura (Jim) Grater of Clarksville, and a sister Catheryn Davis of Clarksville. His grandchildren are Jennifer Nava and Daniel Greer, great grandchildren are Christopher Greer and Spencer Nava.
