Sallie B. Potter, 91, Clarksville, died Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Dogwood Bend Assisted Living Facility .
The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. James Sanders and Bro. Jim Graves officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday at Sykes Funeral Home and from 1:00 p.m. until hour of service Sunday at Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Potter was born in Montgomery County, TN on March 26, 1918 to the late Clarence and Lela Kirksey Black. She was also preceded in death by husband Allen Lewis Potter; brothers, Clarence Lee Black, Carl Black and sister Nina Whitlow.
She was the former owner and operator of Potters Market for many years. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she taught a Sunday School class for 70 years.
She is survived by son, Charles E. (Peggy) Coke of Clarksville; sister, Nellie Nolen of Clarksville; grandchildren, Teresa (David) Thomas of Cumberland Furnace, Keith E. (Janet) Coke of Brentwood, Amanda C. (Jason) Beaty of Oakland, TN; 3 great-grandchildren and many nephews and neices.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Black, Joe Eddie Black, Tommy Nolen, Paul Whitlow, Donnie Black, Keith Coke, David Thomas and Jason Beaty.
In Leiu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Activities Building Fund at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 1388 Cumberland Heights Road, Clarksville, TN 37040.
