Ruby Agnes Black Walker, age 88 of Cumberland Furnace passed away Wednesday, August, 14, 2013 at St. Thomas Alive Hospice. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bryan Baggett officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 and on Saturday, 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Indian Mound.
She was born in Montgomery County on August 25, 1924 to the late James C. and Cora Elizabeth Bryant Black. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Brandon Walker and son, Larry Walker.
She was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by sons, Joseph (Annie) Walker, Donald Walker, Steve Walker; daughters, Nancy (John) Underwood, Sue (Randy) Carte, Gale (Dan) Armstrong, Patty (Mark) Ladd; brothers, Percy (Peggy) Black, John (Charlotte) Black; sisters, Lottie Balthrop, Betty Pulver; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Underwood, Wayne Underwood, Tyler Underwood, Dan Armstrong, Randy Carte and Brandon Ladd.
