Rosa Nell Hester

A Celebration of Life service for Rosa Nell Hester, age 89, of Clarksville, TN, will be Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband Wallace "Buddy" Hester. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 12:30 PM until the time of service. 

Rosa was born on April 29, 1935 in Stewart County to Darrell and Blanche Cato. She passed away on September 24, 2024. Rosa retired after 45 years from Clarksville-Montgomery County School System as a bus driver and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Aside from reading, Rosa did intricate crocheting and gave away hundreds of crocheted hand towels to family and friends over the years. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her children, Jack Hester and Brenda Akin and brothers: Roy Cato, Garner Cato, and Odell Cato. Rosa is survived by her children: Sandra Hester, Dennis (Cathy) Hester, and Scott Hester; brother, Rickey Cato; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Steve Christy, Jeremy Moore, F.C. Lehman, Dakoda Akin, Brandon Hollenbeck, Joshua Janes, and Patrick Hester.
