Romie Lewis Bryant, 68, Clarksville, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at his home.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Shepherd officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. today and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bryant was born Aug. 3, 1939 in Montgomery County, son of the late Alex Bryant and Doshie Ferrell Bryant. He was preceded in death by a sister Lucy Armbruster.
He was employed by Clarksville Gas & Water and Alex Bryant & Son Mill Works. Mr. Bryant was a member of First Baptist Church, Amvets in Buchanan and an associate member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife Irene Suiter Cushman Bryant, daughters Camille (Curtis) Thomas, Clarksville; Nicole Bryant of Conyers, GA. and a step-son Charles Cushman of Cottontown, TN. Brothers and sisters are James Bryant, Carl Bryant, Thelma Perry, Ruth Suiter and Sarah McIntosh all of Clarksville. Other survivors include a granddaughter Rayn Leigh Thomas and grandsons Brad & Bryan Warren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gordon Hawkins, Charles Hand, Davis McCutchen, Ralph Payne, Donnie Haskins, Hobson Nicholson, Jimmy Bryant and Danny Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be Class of 57, Clarksville High School and Dr. Charles Daniels
