Robert was born on October 8, 1946 in Jacksonville, FL, to Robert Sr. and Virginia Thompson. He passed away on May 13, 2024. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy and an accountant. He enjoyed serving at his church, Hilldale United Methodist, where he had a been a member for many years. Robert, along with his wife Ann, enjoyed camping, being out on the lake, biking, and riding motor scooters. He was also a huge fan of the Florida Gators.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Ann Marie Pittenger. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sarah "Ann" Thompson; daughters, Kim (Earl) Arnold and Karen (Scott) Hoskins; grandchildren: Rhett Arnold, Landon Arnold, Katie Beth Hoskins, and Cameron Hoskins; and sisters, Cheryl Moore and Karen Harlow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hilldale United Methodist Church.
