Richard Leitner

Funeral service for AD1 (RET) Richard Leitner, age 77 of Clarksville, will be Friday, August 31, 2018 at Noon at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery West. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Friday for one hour prior to the service.

Richard passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born on January 04, 1941 in Louisville, KY to Charles and Ollie Mae Leitner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons, Donald Leitner and Edgar Agner-Leitner. Richard retired from the United States Navy after 24 years of service and later retired from Civil Services where he spent 20 years. He loved old western movies, Elvis Presley, and was a kind and loving man. Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle who will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Lucila Leitner; sons, Richard (Linda) Leitner, Jr., Charles "Eddie" Leitner II, Rico (Jessica) Agner-Leitner, Greg (Flory) Zaske; daughters, Sherry (Greg) Leitner-Mitchell, Lucy (Kevin) Woolery, Marie (Thomas) Leitner-Higgins, Mary Espino-Leitner, Michelle (Tue) Matavao; sister Linda (Paul) Leitner-Kersey; 26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
