A Celebration of Life service for Richard Brown, Sr., age 94 of Clarksville, will be Thursday, Jan 25, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Sykes Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West at 1:00 pm with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan 25, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sykes Funeral Home.
Richard passed away on Wednesday, Jan 03, 2018 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma. He was born on Jul 16, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa to Herman Brown and Nellie Nickel. He is retired from the United States Army where he served in World War II. He received many medals during his service, and was also awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Richard also served as an assistant football coach at APSU off and on from 1965-2015. He loved Austin Peay football and his dogs.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons; Eugene (Shelia) Brown and Richard (Anita) Brown Jr., daughter, Vicki Bardeau, grandchildren; Bryan Brown, Stephanie Watson, Leslie Kotsch, Ashley Brown, Dennis Barbeau Jr., Brent Barbeau, and Leanne Henry, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
