Richard Wallace Augustine, 77, Clarksville, died Sunday, August 9, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. No services are planned. Mr. Augustine was born December 31, 1931 in Brownstown, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Marie Augustine, and his son Jeff Olsen.
He served in the US Army as a S/SGT with the Medic 35th Inf. Regiment. Medals earned were Koren Svc Medal, W/2 Bs Camp Stars, United Nations Svc Medal, 1 OS Svc Bar, and the Combat Medical Badge. After his honorable discharge from the military in 1953 he founded the Augustine Insurance Group, which he lead until his retirement after 50 years in the industry.
Survived by his children John (Kathy)Olsen of NC; Greg (Tina) Augustine of Clarksville, and Brian (Rebecca) Augustine of Knoxville. His grandchildren are Thomas Olsen, Lindsey Augustine, Doug Olsen, Charles Farmer, Chris Farmer, Josh Augustine and Jacob Augustine.
