Rex Albert Welin, age 66, of Salol, MN, passed away on May 8, 2024 in Clarksville, TN as a result of a tragic accident while attempting to be a good samaritan. He was born on November 24, 1957, in Roseau, MN, to Luverne and Lorraine Welin. Rex loved spending time with his family, tinkering in his garage, traveling, 4-wheeling, and camping. He also enjoyed going to antique tractor and car shows.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bryce Welin; siblings, Diane Larson and Mark Welin; and grandchild, Trinadi Herring. Rex is survived by his wife of 46 years, Laurie Welin; daughters, Dawn (Trevor) Herring and Rebecca (Jonathon) Prevost; siblings: Vern Welin, Phyllis Vinsett, Dale Welin, Brent Welin, and Nancy Hammer; grandchildren: Alexis Welin, Chloe Prevost, Gage Herring, Carissa Prevost, and Kaitlynn Ernst; and great-grandchildren, Conner Welin and Ryder Williams.
