Funeral service for (Ret.) MSG Gordon Allen Highness, age 70 of Clarksville, will be Saturday, Jan 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan 20, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sykes Funeral Home and Saturday, Jan 21, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Sykes Funeral Home.
Gordon passed away on Tuesday, Jan 17, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare. He was born on Aug 26, 1946 in Moorehead, MN to Sigard and Josephine Highness. He was a retired veteran of the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. He also worked for Dyncorp. He was a member of the Guns and GoGos, past member of Edelweiss and Corvette clubs.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sue Purdy Highness, and brothers Leo and Marvin Highness.
He is survived by his daughters, Tanya "Missy" (Donny) Weide; Wendy (Rick) Easterling; brothers, Kenny, Donny, & Eugene Highness; sister, Janet Lehrman; grandchildren, Robert (Lauren) Weide; Chelsea (Logan) Emery; great-grandchildren, Mallory & Noah Weide.
