Gary Ellis Potts, age 68 of Clarksville, passed away on Monday, Aug 07, 2017 at his Residence. He was born on Feb 07, 1949 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Carlos Potts and Helen Potts. He served in the United States Army where he retired after 21 years of service. During his service he served in the Presidential Executive Flight Detachment that was established in 1958 by President Eisenhower to facilitate removal of the President, his family, and other high ranking government officials to safer places in case of war or other state emergencies. Gary was also retired from the Civil Service.
Mr. Potts will be cremated with his cremains being buried in Jr. Franklin Furnace Cemetery in his home town of Wheelersburg, Ohio.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers; Larry (Butch) Potts and George Potts. He is survived by his wife, Linda Potts, children; Sam (Peggy) Potts, and Melissa Potts, brothers; Joe Potts and Carlos Potts, sisters; Wanda Potts, Pam Warner, Sandy Cook, and Stella Cooper, grandchildren; Michael Potts, Manell Potts, Amanda Nelson, and Chris Evans, and great-granddaughter, Alana Nelson.
