Funeral service for (Ret.) MAJ James Henry Evans, age 79 of Clarksville, will be Friday, Aug 26, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the Sykes Funeral Home. Deacon Dominick Azzara will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, Aug 26, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home.
Jim passed away on Monday, Aug 22, 2016 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born on Oct 15, 1936 in Pendergrass, GA to Paul R. and Vivian Nabors Evans. He was retired from the US Army as a Major after serving two tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal along with other awards, medals and accommodations.
He was the best loving husband and father and is survived by his wife of 58 years, Luciana Evans; daughter, Susie (Sizar) Zaher; grandchildren, Christopher and James Zaher; brothers, Billy, Neal, Bruce, Donnie, Ronnie, Davis and Eddie Evans, sisters; Edna England and Pauline Maxey. Eighteen nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Bobby and Danny Evans.
