Rena Aillene Baggett Gafford, age 94, of Cumberland Furnace, went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Hopewell Baptist Church, 1450 Hwy 13, Cunningham, TN with Bro. Michael Raines and Bro. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hopewell Baptist Church and again on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the church.
Aillene was born May 27, 1919 in Robertson County, TN to the late Lorenza and Mary Yates Sanders. She worked the majority of her life in the banking industry and was a charter member of Hopewell Baptist Church. In those 65 years she served as Sunday School secretary and treasurer of the Missionary Fund for 62 years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband of 44 years, Wade Baggett.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Deward Gafford; son, William W. Baggett, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Brenda Baggett; granddaughter, Tracye Nichole (Aaron) Pardoe of White House, TN; grandson, Joshua Shane Baggett of Chesapeake, VA; great-grandchildren, Nathan Brice Pardoe, and Norah Gail Pardoe; step-daughter, Phyllis (Bobby) Doyle of North East, MD; step-grandchildren, Jeff Doyle, Amy Doyle-Haddox and Collin Doyle.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Rodenhaber, Scott Smith, Roger Baggett, Bob Baggett, Tim Ashby, Paul Clark and Ray Baggett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Doyle, Joshua Baggett, Gary Adams, Aaron Pardoe.
