Randy Lee Worcester

Randy L Worcester, 70, of Clarksville TN, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 14. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Sykes Funeral Home on Franklin St. on September 26, 2024. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Service will begin at 3:00 PM. 

Born in Blue Island, IL on 7/22/1954, he was the son of Neil K. Worcester and Mary Lee Elizabeth (Fiedler) Worcester. 

Randy married Peggy Ann Hyden on November 8, 1980. They were lucky to share 43 wonderful years together. 

He is survived by his loving wife Peggy and their two sons, Erik L. Worcester and Douglas N. Worcester, and his two brothers, Gary (Elaine) Worcester of Chicago, IL and Mike (Tammy) Worcester of Kenosha, WI.

 Randy is also survived by and proud of his nephews and niece, Kyle (Jessica) Worcester, Ben Worcester, Kim (Riley) Sengbusch, Nathan Worcester, and Jon Worcester. 

Randy graduated from Bradley University in IL and has his Masters Degree (MBA) in Finance from DePaul University. 

Randy was in the Cell Phone business for 23 years, from the inception of the cell phone in 1981 to 2004.

 In 2005 Randy earned his Real Estate license. In 2006 he was Rookie of the Year with Keller Williams. In 2011 he was awarded Realtor of the year. He and Peggy became owners of the Avalar Real Estate Franchise in 2010; then in 2015 became the owners of the Weichert, Realtors – Home Pros Franchise.

Randy was a beloved instructor and leader in the local Real Estate community. One of his proudest achievements was becoming the President of the Clarksville Association of Realtors in 2014. Even after his Presidency ended, he continued to volunteer his time and knowledge as an instructor of new Real Estate agents in the Clarksville area. 

Randy’s passion when not doing Real Estate was working on his family Genealogy. Through lots of research, Randy was able to trace his family tree back to 1435. 

One of his other passions was his 2005 Dodge Rumble Bee Truck which he loved to tinker with and brought to car and truck shows, winning several awards.

 He was very proud of being inducted into the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution), a non-profit organization involved in historical research and raising funds for scholarships.

 Randy was an active volunteer in the Clarksville community as a Clarksville Citizen Forester and served one year as the President of the Clarksville Sunrise Rotary Club. 

As a leader with Boy Scouts of America in Mississippi and Louisiana, Randy served in several positions including Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Unit Commissioner, Camp Commissioner, District Commissioner, and Council Commissioner. 

Across numerous decades of service in the Boy Scouts, Randy received many Honors and Awards. A few of the most distinguished follow. Silver Beaver Award Distinguished Commissioner Service Award Order of the Arrow, Vigil Honor Order of the Arrow, Founders Award.

Some of his Real Estate Designations and Certifications include: Broker/Owner, ABR, CRS, MRP, CNHS, CDPE, RCC, SRS, ATWD.

Clarksville Association of Realtors Leadership, 2011 Realtor of the Year, 2014 President, 2016 Decade of Achievement, 2016-2024 CARES Instructor (Real Estate School), 2015 Grievance Committee Chair, 2017 RPAC Fundraising Chair 

Clarksville Association of Realtors Committee Memberships: Budget & Finance, Building and Technology, Governmental Affairs, Ombudsman and Mediator, Professional Standards

TN REALTORS® Leadership: 2012 Leadership Academy Graduate, 2018-2019 Division 2 Vice President, Ombudsman and Mediator

TN Residential Real Estate Council Leadership: 2014 CRS of the Year and 2016 President.
