Ralph Payne

Ralph Earl Payne, 88, Clarksville, died Sunday, September 14, 2008, at his home. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. today and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be held 7:00 p.m. today at Sykes Funeral Home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Payne was born January 30, 1920, in Springfield, OH, son of the late Troy and Margaret Stillwell Payne. Preceded in death by his sons Bobby, Jimmy and Johnny Payne. He was retired from Civil Service, served in the U.S. Army during WWII, a member of Salem UMC, McAlister Masonic Lodge, Almenah Temple and VFW Post 4295. Survived by his wife Dorthy L. Payne, daughters Margaret Ann Nolen, Nancy Dunn, Patty Bierman and Debbie (Larry) Elrod. 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Pallbearers will be John Bierman, Jamie Payne, Jimmy Payne, Wayne Reynolds, Don Fox and Bret Norfleet. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gateway Hospice.
