Rae Ann Butts, 52, Clarksville, died Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Vanderbilt Medical Center after an extended illness.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Rae Ann was born October 30, 1957 in Clarksville, daughter of Ray Runyon Butts and Ruth Bumpus Butts. Rae Ann graduated from Clarksville High. She was loved by everyone who knew her. They especially loved her sweet smile. She loved her family, friends and her church family. She prayed for her extended family every day, as her grandmother Myrtle Austin Butts taught her. She gave generously to her church and missions for many years. She enjoyed movies and stuffed animals.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her sister Michele Tucker Butts of Clarksville. Pallbearers will be her cousins Bobby Allison, Donnie Allison, Philip Butts, Chris Swift, and her uncles Henry Bumpus and Browning Bumpus.
Memorial donations may be made to the missions fund of First Baptist Church of Clarksville.
