Philip R. Bowers, age 78 passed away March 2, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center. Visitation will be Monday March 5, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home and again on Tue. March 6, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. till the time of service at 11:00 a.m with Bro. Keith Wilson officiating, burial will follow at the Sango Cemetery.

Mr. Bowers was born Dec. 1, 1933 in Woodlawn, TN , son of the late Gip Thomason Bowers and Willie Mae Crotzer. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Sue Farmer Bowers, son Philip R. Bowers II, brother, Paul R. Bowers and sister Mary Emma Jones.
Mr. Bowers was retired from Ft. Campbell Civil Service, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his 2 sons; Nicky (Bonnie) Bowers, Nicholas Edward Bowers, step-daughter; Janet Piatt (Ric) Mangrum; 3 brothers, Robert Bowers, David Bowers, and Daniel Bowers and one sister Rachel Hudson, 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matt Morrow, Ric Mangrum, Todd Little, Jim Little, Max Maldonado
