Patricia Oliver

A Celebration of Life service for Patricia Dee Oliver, age 88, of Big Rock, TN, will be Monday, April 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Bro. Phillip Hinton will officiate. Burial will follow at Dotsonville Church of Christ Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the time of service.

Patricia passed away on April 12, 2022. She was born on February 5, 1934 in Canton,OH to David and Lillian Mericle. She was a member of Dotsonville Church of Christ, veteran of the United States Navy, and retired from the La-Z-Boy Chair Company. Patricia was the former commander and historian for the American Legion Post 72 in Dover, TN and a past driver for the DAV van service. She loved gardening, crocheting, knitting, quilting, cooking, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Oliver; daughter, Barbara Oliver Thurman; and sisters, Jean Maxfield and Joann Fili. Patricia is survived by her children: Becky (Mike) Launsby, Joseph (Peggy) Oliver, and Gerald (Sandy) Oliver; grandchildren: Steven, Dawn, Craig, Lillian, JoAnne, and David; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
