Opal M. Gamblin

A Celebration of Life service for Opal M. Gamblin, age 90, of Clarksville, TN, will be Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Harvey Cemetery in Cunningham, TN.  Bro. David Mackens will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

Opal was born on December 25, 1933 in Montgomery County, TN to Staton and Mable Black. She passed away on April 29, 2024. Opal enjoyed dancing at the Senior Citizens Center, sewing, and cooking. She also loved tending to her lawn, whether it was mowing or taking care of her flowers. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gamblin; daughter, Joyce Cooper; and siblings: Robert Black, Dottie Hooten, Nancy Stevens, Norman Black, Robbie Sue Tuttle: She is survived by her children:  Linda Welborn, Lillian (Rod) Oliver, and Thomas (Carolyn) Gamblin; grandchildren: Michael Welborn, Paul Welborn, Darwin Cooper, Tony Cooper, Elisha Cooper, Darryl Gamblin, Marvin Gamblin, Ron Riggs Jr., Michael Riggs, Roger Riggs, and Donna Bostick; and many great and great-great grandchildren.
