Norma Jean Bain, 78, Clarksville, died Friday, June 19, 2009, at Spring Meadows Nursing Home. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Melvin Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bain was born March 31, 1931 in Granite City, Illinois daughter of the late James W. Shastid and Virginia M. Smith Ficker. Mrs. Bain was preceded in death by her husband Munroe Luster Bain. Mrs. Bain retired as a chef for Clarksville Country club and member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Bain is survived by sons Lester Bain of Columbia, Maryland, Jeffrey Bain and Michael Bain of Clarksville, Brothers; Richard Ficker of Granite City, Illinois, Sisters; Francie Hudson of Granite City, Betty Owens of Alamo, Texas and Bobbie Barnes of Granite City, Grandchildren; Sonny Bain, Michael Bain, Leslie Bain, Jessica Johnson, David Bain, T.J. Bain, Devin Bain, Joe Bain, Courtland Bain and Jillian Bain; and eleven great-grandchildren.
