Funeral service for Nellie G. Black Nolen, age 85 of Clarksville, will be Sunday, Jan 06, 2013 at 3:00 pm at  Pleasant View Baptist Church. Bro. James Sanders  will officiate. Burial will follow in the Plesant View Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, Jan 05, 2013 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home and on Sunday, Jan 06, 2013 from 1:30 pm until the hour of service at Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Nellie  passed away on Thursday, Jan 03, 2013 at her sons residence.  She was born on Jan 29, 1927 in Montgomery County, TN to the late Clarence and Lela Back. She was a retiree of Acme Boot Company.  She was a lifetime member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She loved her church and being a member of Golden Circle Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John William "Brownie" Nolen, brothers, Clarence Black and Carl Black and sisters, Sallie Potter and Nina Whitlow.

She is survived by her sons, George "Tommy" (Alice) Nolen of Clarksville, and David (Jessica) Nolen of Lockport, IL; grandchildren, Kristy Czekela, Kim Cobb, Lisa Waynick, Denise Oliver, Greg Nolen, Angel Cassella, Lisa McDaniel and Jackie Vandal, ; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Paul Whitlow, Ronnie Black, Donnie Black, Joe Eddie Black, Charles Coke, and Fred Vanway.
