Myrtle I. (Waynick) Bowers, Clarksville, died Tuesday, June 29,2010, at her home.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Shelton and Rev. Melvin Dunaway officiating. Burial will be in Blooming Grove Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. today and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bowers was born in Montgomery County, daughter of the late Frank and Fannie Bryant Waynick. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Bowers.
She retired as a dietician from Memorial Hospital, and she taught Sunday School most of her life.
Mrs. Bowers is survived by two sons Wayne Bowers, Woodlawn, and Terry Bowers of Indian Mound. Her daughters are Linda (Danny) Trotter, Portland, and Ginger (Thomas) Parker of Clarksvile. She also has a brother G. C. Waynick of Erin. She has three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Larry Waynick, Paul Waters, Michael Alexander, Stan Hembree, Billy Edlin and James Edlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom O'Donnell and Ross Edlin.
