MSG (Ret) Charles Kenneth Kidd, age 81 of Clarksville passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center. The Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Harwell officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 and 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
He was born in Powellton, WV on December 31, 1931 to the late Dewey E. and Nora Elizabeth Montgomery Kidd. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Kenneth Kidd, Jr.
He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the VFW. He was retired from the US Army as a Master Sargent having served in the Korean War and two tours in the Viet Nam War.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Caroline Nadine Green Kidd; children, Cheryl Kay Kidd, Celeste Karen Kidd (Robert Johnson), Cherrisse Kimberly Kidd (Jim Manned, II), Brian James Kidd; sisters, June Yoho, Beverly Lynn Shocky, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
