Mrs. Nellie Mae Windon, age 84, of Clarksville passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Gateway Medical Center. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. No services are planned.
She was born June 5, 1930 in Hazelhurst, MS to the late Mr. John Willie and Mrs. Lucille Dixon Bogan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Vernon Windon, grandson, Mr. Shadeed Hammond; step-mother, Mrs. Ruby Mae Lomax Bogan; brothers, Mr. Carl Bogan, Mr. L. T. Bogan, Mr. June Bogan; sisters, Mrs. Angeline Davis and Mrs. Rosa Lee Bogan.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Chapel Baptist Church of Los Angeles, CA for over 30 years. She was known to be the Mother of her neighborhood, always with a smile, a giving heart and willing to help anyone, no matter what.
She is Survived by daughter, Mrs.Verna (Mr.Michael) Jackson; sons, Mr. Carl Windon and Mr. Wallace Windon; brother, Mr. Ivory (Mrs. Debra) Bogan; sister, Mrs. Ruby Nell (Mr. Willie Earl) Bogan; grandchildren, Mr. Michael Windon, Mrs. Shanell Windon-Mann, Mr. Carl Windon, Jr., Mrs. Carla Windon, Ms. Cherokee Windon and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
