Memorial service for Michelle Denise Merritt, age 34 of Clarksville, will be Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at The Liberty Church in Clarksville, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home.
Michelle passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was born on September 10, 1982 in Chattanooga, TN to Wesley Williams and Linda Smith.
Michelle Merritt joined Alpha Sigma Iota, Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority Incorporated, and Zeta Phi Beta Soroity Incorporated in the course of her undergraduate years. She later joined The Liberty Church in Clarksville, TN where she served faithfully on the Praise and Worship team, choir, and Mime Ministry until her death. Michelle also worked for the State of Tennessee with the Department of Children Services Juvenile Justice.
She is survived by her wife, Kamilla Merritt, son, Zyrion Elliott, brother, Denzel Young, sisters, Maria Smith-McConnell, and Joyce Ann Williams.
