Michael "Mike" Smith

Funeral service for Michael "Mike" Reams Smith, age 62 of Clarksville, will be Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Hilldale Baptist Church. Bro. Larry Robertson, Bro. Paul Scott, and Bro. Cal Hampton will officiate. Burial will follow in Smith-Austin Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home and again Sunday from Noon until the time of service at the church. Mike passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was born on August 6, 1956 in Clarksville, TN to J.C. and Edna Smith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Keith Smith.

Mike was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering at Hilldale Family Life Center. He retired from Trane after 40 years and was co-owner of S & W Photography. Mike loved coaching youth sports, car shows, and his '66 Ford Mustang. He was guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face and never met a stranger. His greatest attribute was being a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather to his pride and joy, Tenley, and a great friend. He will be missed by those that were blessed to have known him.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 42 years, Virginia Cox Smith; son, Dustin (Erica) Smith; brothers: Gary (Judy) Smith and Marty Smith; sister, Sandra Wallace; and granddaughter, Tenley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center.
